Adding a SiteLock trust seal without making misleading claims

security-ssl

Use the SiteLock-generated trust seal for the website it belongs to, and verify that its linked details show the correct domain. The seal reports the service's status; it does not promise that every transaction, business claim or future visit is risk free.

01 Add and check the seal

  1. Open the correct site's Security Report and select Customize in the trust-seal panel.
  2. Choose the available language, colour, size and style. Use a modest size that does not cover navigation or essential content on a phone.
  3. Copy the installation code from the dashboard. Add it to the supported HTML or custom-code area of your website, commonly a footer component.
  4. Save the seal configuration and publish the website change. Clear the relevant page cache if the old page continues to appear.
  5. Open the public page in a separate browser session. Click the seal and confirm that the resulting details refer to this site.
  6. Check mobile layout, keyboard access and page loading. Retain the original vendor link and status behaviour.

Common questions

Can I use a screenshot of a successful seal?

No. A static image does not preserve the current status and verification link. Use the official code for the active service rather than copying another website's badge.

Why has the seal disappeared?

Check current scan and service status, then the published code and any script-blocking settings. SiteLock can hide the seal when scans repeatedly fail or report issues. Fix the underlying issue instead of forcing an old badge to remain visible.

Does the seal establish payment-card compliance?

Do not make that claim from a seal alone. Any compliance claim needs the appropriate assessment and evidence for the actual business and payment arrangement.

What if my builder removes the code?

Check whether your plan supports custom HTML or scripts. Use its documented integration route, or ask support about a supported placement.
