A page template provides the frame around each page's stored content. Keep the dynamic Content block in that frame so editing the shared template changes presentation without replacing every page with the same fixed text.

Does editing a page template replace each page's content?
Edit a page when its own wording, images or sections need to change. Edit the template when the common header, title placement, content width or footer arrangement should change for all pages using it. The Site Editor can show real page content inside a template preview, which makes this distinction easy to overlook.
Record the current template name and identify other pages using it before making a substantial change.
01 Adjust the shared frame
- Open the relevant template in the Site Editor.
- Use List View to locate the header, Title block, Content block and footer.
- Change layout containers and supported style settings around the dynamic content as needed.
- Keep page-specific copy out of the shared frame unless it intentionally belongs on every assigned page.
- Preview several pages, review the save panel and save the intended template change.
02 Check content and design together
Verify a page with simple text, a page with columns and a page with a form or other interactive component. Confirm the body appears once, the title is not duplicated and the intended navigation remains available.
Review narrow screens and long page titles. A layout that works for a short About page can fail for a longer service title or an embedded table.
03 Fix a wrong-scope change
If every page now shows the same text, determine whether that text was inserted directly into the template. Remove or relocate it carefully and restore the dynamic Content block if it was replaced. Do not assume the original page records have been deleted.
If one page needs a different design, create and assign a separate template. Avoid changing the default template repeatedly for individual exceptions. If a reset is needed, preserve useful customisations first and verify which template will be restored, since resetting a shared frame can affect many public URLs at once.
