Adding a secondary domain to SiteWorx

control-panels, domains-dns

A SiteWorx secondary domain can host an additional website within the same account. It has its own website configuration, but account-level resource limits still apply. Adding it is separate from registering the domain or changing its nameservers.

Check access and requirements

Confirm that the domain is registered to you, the plan allows another domain and the destination account has enough capacity. Decide its PHP requirements and prepare DNS changes at the provider that actually hosts the public zone.

01 Add a secondary domain to SiteWorx

  1. Open Hosting Features > Domains > Manage and choose Add Domain or the plus control.
  2. Enter the complete domain name without a URL path. Review the available IP and PHP settings and choose those appropriate for the service.
  3. Create the domain, then inspect its assigned directories and application settings. Keep its files separate from an existing site unless sharing is intentional.
  4. Point the relevant DNS records to the assigned hosting destination. Preserve mail and verification records if the domain’s DNS is being moved at the same time.
  5. Upload or install the site and configure HTTPS once domain validation can succeed. Test before announcing the new address.

Confirm the expected result

Confirm the domain appears in SiteWorx, public DNS resolves as planned, and HTTPS serves the new site. Check that any existing email service still receives mail.

Why can I not add the secondary domain or see the intended site?

If the domain cannot be added, review plan limits and whether it already exists on the server. Do not remove another account’s domain to bypass a conflict. If the wrong website appears, inspect the assigned root and DNS rather than overwriting the main site’s files.
